Instructions for Fakebook section — blog pages as “Inventory” of notes

      » “Pages” overview @ WP.com

 

  • Dashboard
    → “Pages”
    → “Add New”
  • Title: Fakebook (or Inventory, Lessons, Notes, etc.)
  • Click Publish
  •  

    Next, create 4 new pages as sections of Inventory:

      1. Internet Invention

      2. Films
      3. New Media
      4. Popcycle

    Instructions

    1. Dashboard → “Pages” → “Add New”
    2. Title: (“Relay: Films”)
    3. Add Body Text
    4. On Right sidebar → “Attributes” → “Parent” :
        Choose “Inventory” (or whatever you’ve named page)
    5. Click Publish

     
    Next:

    Add Link(s) to your “Inventory” Page:

    • click “Edit” page

    • Add list and add hyperlink with URL for 4 new pages:
      • “Lessons: Ulmer”
      • “Relay: New Media”
      • “Relay: Film”
      • “Popcycle (lessons & relays)”

    — Click Update


 

 

* Edit pages with headings & sections for notes, (which you’ll update throughout term).

    Fakebook sub-pages

  • Dashboard → “Pages” → “Edit”
  • Title:
  • Body/Text Field:
    • Section Heading & Internet Invention Chapter
      • Note: if you’d like a solid line to separate sections:
        switch from Visual Editor to HTML view (tab on toolbar — see @ WP.com);
        type “< h r >” without quotes or spaces.
    • Specify Section & Heading for each “Relay”
      • Ulmer (page): Chapter notes (or other assigned reading)
      • Films (page): Breathless notes (section), Hide and Seek notes (section), etc.
      • New Media (page): Sunshine ‘69, These Waves of Girls, etc.
      • Popcycle (page): any examples from your “experience database,” categories of
        Autobiography / Family; School, Career, Community; Entertainment / Media / Culture (film, TV, books, music, visual art, websites, multimedia, digital culture)
    • Use list formatting for organization; toolbar button (see guide @ WP.com)
