- Poetics section/document: 5 points; due 4/25; 400–500 words
- Reflection section/document: 5 points; due 4/25; 500 words (minimum)
- Post both on Project 3 page on your blog (or in D2L)
Poetics section/document
- 400–500 words; academic discourse (rational, “critical thinking”; direct account, not multimodal)
- optional format: this can also/instead be composed as a screencast (video of your site with commentary)
Discuss concisely & thoughtfully your design attempts and rationale: how addressing key aims and using media forms purposefully. Describe the rationale for your composing, explicitly stating your choices/strategies & reasoning (digital rhetoric). While you need not explain every part of your project, you should mention specific aspects and how they present segments of your digital identity in multiple modes — your Screen-Self-Portrait, result of working in Electracy to convey experience in aesthetic-affective mode.
Reflection section/document
- 500 words (minimum; 700 words max); thoughtful and efficient composition
Discuss your “Self-reflexive” knowledge, result of composing and viewing/browsing your project. First (most important) present specific insights, about your digital identity and mediated experience; rather than describe aspects of the project (as in Poetics), state your insights, realizations, reflections, connections from your composite self-portrait — especially considering various/diverse aspects of identity experience (visible/invisible, public/private, singular/networked) in networked-mediated conditions.
Additionally, discuss any insights about our broader topics: “Experience Paradigm,” Apparatus Theory; composing/communicating experience (“paradigm rhetoric”); aesthetic mode & affective expression (multimodal composing, creative techniques, aesthetics and embodiment — perhaps vs. quantification/Dataism); —any/all considerations about emerging conditions of Electracy (Institution, Identity Experience, Technology & Socio-Cultural conventions).
While this can be speculation (instead of argument/conclusion), try proposing new/consequent ideas at the end of the course and with this project—particularly connections, effects, implications (e.g. mediated identity experience, distinct forms of knowledge in this paradigm).

“Liquid Architecture” (2014)
Lorca places “duende” in the family of terms for the bittersweet feeling of eros, in all the versions that spread through the Black Atlantic, the creolé cultures that invented the musics of tango, samba, jazz — each with its own mood (mufarse, saudade, blues). A key element in the description is that duende may be invited, but it comes and goes on its own terms…

Marcus Novak brings all these threads together in his discussion of liquid architecture when he suggests that cyberspace may be constructed in accord with the old dreams of magic. Duende is the mood of dwelling in information, and poetry is its logic (Novak, 228).
