Project 3 Components

1. Illustrated Proposal (due 4/27 class-time)
2. Poetics
  • Due Tues 28-Apr 11PM
  • 5 points; 400–500 words
    — add to Project 3 page on your blog (or as sub-page)

» Discuss your composing approach & process (digital rhetoric), including design decisions and rationale (most important) for hybrid (critical + creative) project: how addressing key objectives, new purpose & intended audience (specify); particularly/uniquely by composing multimodal presentation of ideas using digital media.
Be sure to discuss specific aims, techniques, and aspects of project; especially any creative/aesthetic approaches less obvious — simulate, perform, convey, express — that illustrate your proposal ideas
(left implicit on pages; explain here).

Reflection
  • Due Tues 28-Apr 11PM
  • 5 points; 500–600 words
    — add to Project 3 page on your blog (or as sub-page)

» Discuss your insights, what you have learned from project (and/as last class unit on art in post-Internet media ecology; or culmination of semester?)
While the main question is the overall results of praxis-based learning process, be sure to address two key areas/focus of insights, lessons, realizations, ideas:
— about “writing in the visual arts,” concerning arts-based research, Information Literacy, multimodal composing, network rhetoric, and/or hybrid communication. (insights, realizations, limitations, advantages, potential application?)
— about your art medium/form/major, in terms of disciplinary conventions and specialized discourse of field; especially considering networked media ecology, relationship of technology and aesthetics, contemporary developments
(i.e. how your projects answers question, “direction or innovations for your art field, given changing & emerging media conditions?”)
Optionally you might discuss applications for additional areas/roles not addressed by project: for instance art education, art-making (process, creator/Artist role, etc), criticism/review, scholarly discourse, reception, market/career, audience/participation, institutions (like gallery, museum, university, hybrid/cross-organization, etc)

Be sure to conclude by discussing significance, consequence, implications (for either/both of these two areas) with your new perspective, at end of course.
